ARRESTS MADE IN A GANG SHOOTING; FIREARMS RECOVERED DURING SEARCH WARRANT
On June 6, 2025, at about 8:40 pm, Coalinga Police Officers responded to reports of multiple gun shots in the 300 block of Warthan. Through the course of this investigation, it was determined that one suspect fired multiple rounds at a passing vehicle.

Officers located evidence at the scene of the shooting and obtained surveillance video that assisted with the investigation. Suspect Jorge Marquez was later identified as the shooter and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On June 8, 2025, at about 4pm, officers from the Coalinga Police Department with the assistance of Fresno’s Multi Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC), served a search warrant on the 300 block of Warthan and 100 block of W. Hawthorne. The search warrant stemmed from the shooting investigation with Jorge Marquez.
During the search warrant several weapons were seized including two AR-15 rifles that are illegally configured. Also seized were several high-capacity magazines and ammunition. Also recovered were two 9mm handguns that will be sent to the lab for testing, which may have been used in the above shooting. A 34- year-old Coalinga resident Hector Rebolledo was arrested for charges related to possession of high-capacity magazines, un-serialized assault rifle, and possession of an assault rifle. Rebolledo was booked into the Coalinga City Jail and later transported to the Fresno County Jail.

On June 8, 2025, 39-year-old Jorge Marquez out of Coalinga was arrested for his involvement in this shooting. He was booked on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, shooting at inhabited dwelling/vehicle, willful discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, participate in a criminal street gang, assault with firearm on person, carry loaded firearm with prior felony convictions, and person prohibited from possessing a firearm shall not possess ammunition. Marquez was arrested in the City of Fresno by Coalinga officers and transported to the Fresno County Jail.
